The Dream Pool is an area accessible from the Whispery Sewers.
Features[]
The Dream Pool is an immensely labrynthine area that is moody and dreary, inhabited by few creatures including the eyeball people from Saturated Eyeball Zone. The wall of the entrance to this maze is punctuated by a large graffiti of an eyeball crossed out, giving a hint to the player.
Along the way, there are some points of interest that you can find, such as a streetlight where you can find the Streetlight Thief's lair, and a red culvert where you can view what appears to be the area's exterior. Getting caught by the Shadow Ladies that lurk within the area sends you to a section that leads back to the main section of the Rusty Urban Complex. You can also find a phone booth in one of the deeper sections of this area, which leads to the higher parts of the Rusty Urban Complex, as an isolated section of said area, where you can enter the control room which the Cyborg Operator inhabits. There is also a small passage in a waterlogged section, which leads to a boarded-off doorway that you can chainsaw, that takes you to a corridor leading to the Azure Garden.
As you explore the area, there are eye grafitti drawn on the walls, some of which are crossed out. If you walk by these marks without the Invisible effect in use, entering certain doors or passages will take you to fenced-off dead ends, instead of their supposed destinations.
A one-eyed girl wearing a swimsuit, named Aiko, is likely the culprit of these trick doors. She can be found at one of the deepest parts of the pool, blocking the entrance to the Dark Nexus. In order to proceed to the Dark Nexus, she must be killed with the chainsaw. Interacting with her otherwise will show a close-up of her face, and interacting with her with the Eyeball Bomb will show another close-up of her face now having a wick on her head, like she has the eyeball bomb equipped as well.
